John Mechling is a senior principal engineer with more than 40 years of experience in mountain development and construction, with particular expertise in ski area development and construction.
John joined CTL | Thompson in 1978 as a field technician and later served as staff engineer. In 1987, John launched CTL’s Glenwood Springs Division. He served as branch manager for many years, overseeing engineering consultation while contributing to the overall management and growth of the company. He provided geotechnical engineering reports for commercial, residential and industrial projects and supervised the quality assurance of testing of soils, asphalt and concrete. In 2017, John passed the baton to his successor, but he continues to provide guidance as a senior principal engineer.
